Assault

The Reynolds Assault is an aggressive, all-carbon clincher wheelset with a 46mm deep-V rim, designed to improve the speed of your everyday cycling. It is engineered to withstand severe lateral force, meaning the Assault digs harder, drives faster and hangs tougher than any similar wheelset. Stiff and responsive in any situation, the Assault features a carbon braking surface that ensures braking is smooth and sure. And, while the Assault takes any punishment you can deliver, our proprietary Vibration Management System (VMS) helps keep the ride smooth and steady. Why put up with alloy when you can enjoy Reynolds carbon performance for about the same price?
The poor man’s DV.
Seriously, this is one of the most value for money carbon wheel around.
Assault is a clincher with 46mm profile.
What differs it from the higher end and almost double priced DV46C are the hubs, spokes and the slight difference in carbon grade.
Assault’s hubs are smooth and loud. IMO, almost smooth enough to rival the high end DT240.
Spokes are heavier and cheaper DT Comp, compared to Aerolite.
This results in about a 100g difference in weight compared to DV46C.
Is the price difference worth the 100g? Not in my opinion.
Get Assault if you want a budget and aerodynamic performance oriented wheelset.
