Aksium are bombproof and stiff with good smooth hubs but they are HEAVY at almost 2kg!
Aksium makes a responsive bike feel “too stable” and they make you accelerate like a tortise.
As Raymond says, even Mavic wants to get rid of them when they offer free Aksium replacements for they RSys recall.
These are usually spec into new bikes and there are better buys for their price.

Personally I find the wheel pretty smooth, and holds speed relatively well on flats.. But u’ll experience the full weight of the wheel on a slope; which makes climbing with this wheels a nightmare…
But it would serve pretty well as a bombproof training wheel due to solid built.

eh.. how come this picture make the aksium looks so cool?? ugly looking in reality (for my version at least)… this wheel.. heavy like hell!!! but it’s good.. in giving weaker legs who has better wheels a false perception of strength in sprinting against urself using this wheel.. becos u’ll be accelerating so slow, by the time u get to speed, the weaker leg has long gone..
