Ultegra
Continuing advances in human engineering technology stand behind road components that provide racing, sport and fitness cyclists with higher levels of control & response.
Ultegra shares Dura-Ace’s engineering lineage but has its own unique identity, offering greatly enhanced feel and sleek design that’s backed by a new level of performance.
shifter dun feel nice to grab..
shifters corrode v v easily!! my DA shifters hasn’t corroded despite me not wiping it immediately after a ride.. try that with an ultegra shifter and u’ll regret it..
crank feels heavy (compared to a DA crank)
shimano-standard shifting.. no nonsense, crisp fast accurate shifting
other components? get it’s job done…
Shifter hoods are fat and uncomfortable, personal preference.
Shifters get corroded way too easily. Recommended to rinse after ride.
The Ultegra crank is actually stiffer than Dura Ace 7800, but heavier of course.
Brakes are powerful with good modulation and shifting is crisp and precise.
Otherwise, Ultegra is a no frills component groupset that will give you many years of problem free service, if you keep it that long that is.
Shifters dun feel comfortable.. and can get irritating over time..
Shifters also corrodes very easily and ugly lines will appear all over the brake levers if you due wipe it after use..
Brakes dun feel as power as DA.. but maybe it’s due the lousy brake pads used..
Shifting is fast as precise.. and significantly better than sram rival.. but not as crisp as DA..
IMO, The groupset basically does its job pretty well in all aspects except for the shifter corroding as mentioned above.
